About
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree (History) from the University of Alberta (1980). I worked in archaeology and palaeontology in the 1980s including time at the Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology. I went back to University to acquire an adult education credit and spent the 1990s teaching English as a Second Language which included three years working in Seoul, South Korea and two in Santiago, Chile. Since 2001 I have been an indexer starting my own company AM Indexing that fall. I am a member of the Indexing Society of Canada and a listed indexer with them. I feel completely at home as an indexer. As an enthusiastic reader of non-fiction in many subjects I always wanted to make a living in some way that was connected to books. The variety of subjects I am asked to index makes the job continually interesting and I like to think of it as a form of lifelong education.
